Jersey Mike’s was started in 1956 as Mike’s Subs. They first opened in New Jersey in the town of Point Pleasant. In 1956 there were not many franchise businesses around. Mike’s was unique because they focused on a new product -the submarine (sub) sandwich – instead of theburgers, chicken, fries, or pizza.
In 1971, Mike’s subs came up for sale and was purchased by a 17-year-old that had been working in the sub shop since he was 14 years. old. He was not old enough to slice the meat, but he was the proud owner of Mike’s Subs. If you are a fan of the classic Reuben sandwich, then this one is especially for you. The original Reuben is made with corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing. Some establishments use Pastrami instead of corned beef.
At Jersey Mike’s they make the R & R sandwich with corned beef, pastrami (if you want), coleslaw (in place of the sauerkraut, lots of melted Swiss cheese, and a large drizzle of the Russian dressing to top off the sub.

3. Jersey Mike’s Secret Menu – Chick-FIla-Roni
“What in the world is that,” you ask? It is a secret menu item that is packed with flavor. This secret sandwich is prepared exactly like the Jersey Mike’s Philly Cheese steak Sub, only they use chicken instead of the steak.
That is the ‘Chick-Fila’ part of the sub. The ‘Roni’ in the sandwich gives it the extra flavor blast; grilled pepperoni and top it with chipotle mayonnaise.
Of course, you can choose any sauce you like; marinara, ranch, or a combination. There you have it! The secret menu item Chick-Fila-Roni
4. Jersey Mike’s Secret Menu – Surf n Turf
This is a very popular meal at a lot of establishments, usually the higher end ones. It can be an expensive meal as the Surf n Turf is normally steak and lobster. For Jersey Mike’s, it’s not steak and lobster on a sandwich, unfortunately. That would get pretty costly as well.
With this secret menu item, your taste buds with either approve or they won’t. To order the Jersey Mike’s Surf n Turf sub; order their club sandwich and then have them switch the cheese from provolone to Swiss. Next, ask them to replace the turkey with tuna.
The final step in ordering the Surf n Turf; remove the bacon! The roast beef on the sandwich acts as the ‘turf’. Add all the other fixin’s of your choice and enjoy.

5. Jersey Mike’s Secret Menu – Sweet Pepper Wrap
If you do not care for meat, Jersey Mike’s can more than accommodate you. They understand and are prepared for almost anything you ask for. When you walk in the door to order your wrap, with meat or no meat, you have a few choice flavors for your wraps.
For the Sweet Pepper Wrap, it is recommended you opt for the tomato basil-flavored wrap. It gives the veggies the perfect flavor blend. You want to make a couple of substitutions; take off the ranch dressing and add chipotle ranch and cherry pepper relish.
Ask for grilled bell peppers instead of raw and then add your hot peppers. Add the cheese of your choice; provolone, American, or Swiss and enjoy your Sweet Pepper Wrap from Jersey Mike’s secret menu.
6. Jersey Mike’s Secret Menu – Big Kahuna Cheese steak with Chipotle Mayonnaise
If you are in love with Jersey Mike’s and you have a hefty appetite, then I have found the perfect secret menu item for the growl in your stomach. This sub is packed with delicious ingredients, giving it a whole ton of flavor for your monster hunger pain.

This secret menu item combines two of Jersey Mike’s regular menu items; Chipotle Cheese steak and the Big Kahuna Cheese steak. Your sub will be bulging with grilled steak and onions, mushrooms, jalapenos, and peppers.
Top it off with slices of American cheese and their spicy chipotle mayo. Perfecto!
7. Jersey Mike’s Secret Menu – The Martian
This insanely good sandwich is not green, like Martians, and it doesn’t come from outer space. It is a delicious creation that puts you over the moon with flavor.
As with some of the other secret menu items, this sub is a regular on the Jersey Mike’s menu, with a couple of changes. Order the Super Sub on the menu and have them exchange the prosciutti with pepperoni and the ham for salami and voila! Add provolone and your choice of veggies and sauce to make a sub that is out of this world with flavor.
Just watch out, Martians might try to take it from you.
8. Jersey Mike’s Secret Menu – Lumberjack Salad
This secret menu item doesn’t resemble a salad at all. Full of meat and loads of flavor, it is the farthest thing away from lettuce and tomatoes that you can get.
Place your order at Jersey Mike’s for a Club Supreme in a tub.
Have them remove the turkey and add prosciutti. You will have a tub full of roast beef, Apple wood smoked bacon, prosciutti, lettuce, tomato, and top with spicy mustard. As with any order at Jersey Mike’s you can also add any other extras and veggies that you choose to make it your own.
9. Jersey Mike’s Secret Menu – The Meateor
Forget the veggies! Go for the meats! This hardy sandwich was created by a super fan of Jersey Mike’s and was previewed on his personal YouTube channel. You will have to be mighty hungry when you go into a Jersey Mike’s to order this 6-inch sub.
You will want to ask for bacon, prosciutti, pepperoni, salami, capicola, ham, roast beef, and turkey. Yes, folks, that is 8 types of meat on a 6-inch sandwich. Add lettuce, pickles, oil and vinegar, and mayonnaise for a superb combination of flavors in every single bite.
10. Jersey Mike’s Secret Menu – The BLT
Bacon, lettuce, and tomato. A popular sandwich at a lot of little cafe’s and some larger restaurants, but not on the Jersey Mike’s regular menu. That sounds odd to me, for a sandwich business to not have the popular BLT on their menu. But, they have all of the ingredients to prepare a BLT, all you have to do is ask.

If you want to kick it up a notch then you can add any of the Jersey Mike’s veggies, sauces, cheese, or other extras to make it a BLT with a twist.
