Is it bad to long rest too much in BG3? ›

You can long rest as often as you'd like, provided you have the resources. However, long rests move "time" forward and may affect the outcomes of quests, the availability of NPCs, etc.

It is helpful to take short rests in between combat or when many of your party members are low on hit points. You are able to take a short rest twice per day.

Letting Astarion bite you is an easy way to get approval with him. The simple answer is yes, as the only downside is gaining the Bloodless debuff, while Astarion gains the Happy buff and his approval rating of you increases.

When you're low on HP or Spell Slots in Baldur's Gate 3, you'll need to rest. Resting is split into two types: Short and Long Rests. Short Rests are more useful for a quick break between fights, while Long Rests will send you back to camp and allow you to have some evening chats before tucking yourself into bed.

Firstly, players can only perform a full Long Rest at the Camp if they have 40 Camp Supplies. Otherwise, they'll perform a Partial Long Rest, which only restores half the party's hit points and spell slots.

Although Rescue Orin's Victim appears to be time-sensitive - it is not. The party can take an unlimited number of Long Rests without Orin killing her kidnapping victim. The companion's life is only at risk once Orin is spoken to in the Temple of Bhaal.

Overall, consuming the parasites can serve the player a lot as it makes them more powerful and helps them avoid difficult combats. However, it is by no means necessary and the game can be beaten without.

You can have two active romances but to advance it to Stage 2 and confirm it as the dedicated romance you need to break up with one of them. The only exception is Halsin, who can be combined with Karlach/Asterion/Shadowheart as a Third Wheel.

If you rest more than three times at the camp: Karlach mission is failed and the grove gets sealed.

When you let Astarion drink your blood, you'll wake up with the Bloodless debuff. Until you long rest again, you'll have a -1 on all checks. The only way to avoid the debuff is to let him kill the character. You can always use a Scroll of Revivify the next morning or pay 200 to have Withers bring you back to life.

What happens if you let Astarion turn you into a vampire? ›

Upon another long rest, the ascended Astarion will give the player-controlled character the opportunity to turn into a vampire spawn by drinking a drop of his blood. While this will grant them access to the basic Vampiric Bite ability, they'll be much weaker than Astarion.

You'll then see a romance scene between you and Astarion. During the scene, you can choose to let Astarion bite you or not. The choice here does not impact the romance at all, but letting him bite you will raise his approval of you.

Worth stressing that while there's no particular limit to how many long rests the player can take, people should absolutely be wary of WHEN they take these long rests, because there's plenty of "skippable" content if you rest at the wrong moment.

Short Rests partially heal your team and don't replenish spell slots unless you're a class like Warlock which gets fewer spell slots in exchange for the ability to regain them in a short rest. You get two Short Rests each day and they're replenished by taking a Long Rest.

So, while BG3 doesn't really have 17,000 completely unique endings, there are at least 17,000 variations on the endings it has. Most players will probably never see the same exact ending variation twice, which makes each replay as interesting as the last.

The story isn't timed but some side quests are, they'll only trigger the countdown when you get near them so like with that burning building you have to go up towards the Gnoll area to trigger it's countdown, the Druid Grove does have a timer but it's like somewhere around 15 long rests before it closes off.

None of the main story has time limits, some side quests do but im not sure if any in act 2 do, time limits only start once you get within proximity of the quest giving event so if you're struggling early on then you're not gonna hit any of them and will be fine.

Since this is the only quest in the game that actually takes the passage of time into consideration (every long rest annoys Nere further and he dies after the 3rd).
