The Albert Heijn Van den Tweel is the best grocery store in Curacao overall.
Since Albert Heijn is a Dutch Brand, they mostly have typical Dutch groceries. You can find all of the favorites, such as Stroopwafel and Hagelslag.
The quality of the supermarket is great, and the food is fresh. You can buy seafood, meat, produce, and other necessities.
The grocery store is about 15 minutes outside of Willemstad, so it is definitely possible to go from the city.
They have coffee to go and even a smoothie station – super fancy!
2. Carrefour

Carrefour is my personal favorite of the Curacao grocery stores.
Carrefour is one of the biggest supermarkets in Curacao. It is also the most expensive one, but they have high quality food and alcohol.
You can also buy cosmetics, sun products and BBQ utensils at the Carrefour.
The supermarket is conveniently located in the Sambil shopping center just outside Willemstad. You can combine your visit with some shopping or a movie in the cinema.
3. Vreugdenhil Supermarket

The Vreugdenhil Supermarket in Curacao is another one of my favorite grocery stores.
They have many North American things, but also plenty of Dutch products.
The store is pretty big, and they even have a small cosmetics store included.
Vreugdenhil Supermarket is also beloved among locals, and it is a lot cheaper than Albert Heijn or Carrefour.
There is a small coffee-to-go cart, and you can buy fresh cake and bread.
4. Curacao Centrum Supermarket

The Centrum Supermarket is another great supermarket in Curacao.
They have everything you could possibly wish for – it is quite big.
This grocery store is also where Curacao locals shop. It is not as fancy as the Carrefour or the Albert Heijn.
Centrum Supermarket is a little more expensive than Vreugdenhil, but the quality is about the same.
Centrum Supermarket is also about 15 minutes outside of Willemstad, located a bit more to the West.
Centrum Supermarket is located in the Piscadera area, so great for people that stay in Piscadera.
5. Albert Heijn Jan Thiel

The second Albert Heijn supermarket in Curacao is located in Jan Thiel.
This supermarket will be your first choice for grocery shopping if you are staying at Jan Thiel beach.
The store is quite small, so you can basically only buy food. The selection is not very big, so if you need a little more choice, you have to go to a different market.
6. New California Supermarket, Tera Cora
- Address: 6XF9+X52, Tera Korá Willemstad, Curaçao
The New California Supermarket is one of the only Curacao grocery stores in the west of the island. If you are staying in Playa Lagun, Westpunt, or Koraal Resort, this is a great choice.
The quality is slightly less good than in the Willemstad supermarkets, but you can still find everything you need in this store.
New California Supermarket is also a little less expensive, and much visited by locals.
The store is quite easy to find if you drive towards Westpunt through the village of Tera Cora, you can see it on the left side.
7. Bon Bini Supermarket

The Bon Bini Supermarket is another popular choice for grocery shopping in Curacao.
They have a bakery for fresh bread, and you can even buy ice cream there.
I have not been there often, it is not one of my regular super markets in Curacao.

Yes, there are many more grocery stores in Curacao.
Sadly, we have found that they do not have the quality standards that we are used to in Europe or the US.

A great tip if you are looking to buy Blue Curacao: go to Landhuis Chobolobo directly, to save some money and see where the liquor is made.
